Suitcases & bags of bridle leather from the English supplier to the Queen. The Papworth company has been in existence since 1917 & has been owned for a few years now by Swaine Adeney Brigg, founded in 1750, which, like Papworth, has been supplying the British royal court with leather travel goods for decades. All products are manufactured from bridle leather & other first-class materials using traditional methods in a workshop not far from Cambridge. Despite the division of work among several people, one employee is always personally responsible for the quality of each individual product, & his or her name can be found on a card in each bag or case. All the articles are supplied in a green baize bag in which you can also store the case or bag if it is not going to be used for a longer period of time. As a rule, we have in stock the products shown in the colour Cambridge Tan. However, we can always order the products for you in the other colours shown here on request. We would be happy to send you samples of leather. Please note that the delivery time for colours other than Cambridge Tan is 8-12 weeks. Suitcases from Papworth These suitcases are from a different era & thus are unsuitable for travel by air (unless you have a private plane). Despite being very robust, the journey of such a suitcase through the labyrinth of the baggage conveyor systems of a modern airport would be an odyssey with a very uncertain ending. Suitcases of this type were intended for travelling by coach, by car, by train or by ship. & that is what they should be used for. The workmanship of the suitcase corresponds to that of the Papworth briefcases. Interior lined with beige canvas. They have an inner pocket in the lid & two leather-fastening straps. Small Leather Suitcase Width 56 x depth 37 x height 17 cm (22” x 15” x 7” approx.), volume approx. 28 litres, weight 4.5 kg. Leather Embossing Papworth offers a special embossing service so you can have your initials on all of your Papworth briefcases or bags. The leather must be embossed before it is processed further. For that reason there is a delivery period of 8-12 weeks for all briefcases or bags that are to have initials embossed. The font used is the one shown, Antiqua, with a uniform height of 9 mm (0.4” approx.). The embossing is always done with a full stop between each letter unless otherwise specified. The price is for 1 up to a maximum of 4 letters. a 65.00.
